Jones Fabricare was established in Mannington, WV in 1906 as E. C. Jones as a dry goods store, selling all types of items for the home including clothes. It served the coal and timber industry families.

In about 1908, this store moved 20 miles to a larger town, Fairmont, WV. This business continued as the Jones Store until about 1970.

The Jones' had always stored furs as part of their business. It was during the 1920's that fur storage grew as they began to serve other stores like their's. E. C. Jones' three sons joined the business about then, Edward, Hugh, and Paul.

In 1928, the fur business was separted from the Jones Store, becoming Jones Fur Service. By 1938, Jones Fur Service had built a second location along the Southern Railroad in Greensboro, NC. This business served Belk, Ivey's, and other department stores.
Around 1960, the next generation of Jones' joined in, Paul's son John Paul and Hugh's son Hugh Eckess. Paul managed the WV plant while Eckess the one in NC. During this time, both plants sold new furs, stored and cleaned furs, and manufactured furs.
In 1981, Eckess' son Hugh joined the business. He brought the management of the company to North Carolina, eliminated the new fur sales operations, and began processing leathers and suedes, gowns, and area rugs.
